The 2nd Media Technology Leadership Forum was held in the impressive setting of Sarajevo City Hall on February 12, 2026 – an event that once again confirmed its position as a central regional platform for strategic discussions on the future of telecom and media technologies.
This year’s edition of the forum was dedicated to Android STB management, one of the most dynamic and significant segments of the modern telecom industry, and regional telecom leaders and global partners spoke about the future of managing the Android STB ecosystem, which today represents a key point of operator differentiation – from optimizing operating costs and system security, to improving the user experience and faster introduction of new services.

Net Solution brought together representatives of regional telecom leaders, BH Telecom, Hrvatski Telekom, Telekom Srbija and Telemach Hrvatska, who exchanged concrete practical experiences through expert panels and open discussions, spoke about the challenges of managing large fleets of Android STB devices, and shared insights into the security, operational and development aspects of this technology.

An additional international dimension was given to the forum by the presence of Skyworth, a global leader in the production of Android STB devices, which enabled the exchange of perspectives between operators and device manufacturers at the highest professional level.

The organizer of the forum, Net Solution, once again demonstrated its strategic role in the development and improvement of the Android STB ecosystem in the region. Through the Media Technology Leadership Forum initiative, Net Solution is actively building a platform for connecting regional operators and global technology partners.

The central technological moment of the forum was the presentation of the Box Pulse platform – an advanced solution for Android STB management, which was fully developed by Net Solution. On Thursday, November 28, the 1st Media Technology Leadership Forum with the theme “Ecosystem of the Future” was held in Hotel Hills Sarajevo, organized by the company Net Solution.

The goal of this year’s forum was the exchange of knowledge and experience among experts from companies that are market leaders and the timely recognition of trends in the IPTV/OTT industry of telecommunications and digital technologies.

Through seven interactive presentations, the organizers focused on the ecosystems of the future and together with experts from the industry tried to find answers to the questions – what is this industry today, where will it be in the future and what are the global trends?

“Considering that in our region there are no events from the industry we deal with with a primary technical theme, we decided to start one such event in Sarajevo. That’s how we came to the 1st Media Technology Leadership Forum, and we were supported by partner companies that are also participants forum,” said Jasmin Zulčić, director of the Net Solution company and organizer of the forum.

At the forum, the participants had the opportunity to listen to the presentations of Bosnian companies – Net Solution and BH Telecom, as well as guest speakers: Hrvatski Telekom (Iskon) from Croatia, Appear from Norway, Verimatrix from the USA, Broadpeak from France and Skyworth from China.

On a break from professional topics, the organizer also prepared a presentation of “success stories” that do not come from this industry to the participants of the forum. Thus, all present had the opportunity to listen to an inspiring presentation by Tomislav Cvitanušić, a well-known Bosnian triathlete, marathon runner and alpinist.

Appear, the global leader in live production technology, has been selected by BH Telecom to enhance the live channel processing software for its Moja TV service. The project encompasses the provision and integration of an advanced IPTV transcoding and multiplexing platform that offers BH Telecom considerable cost and efficiency savings.

The new transcoding platform, based on Appear’s award-winning X Platform, is designed to handle 270 HD channels, utilising H264/MPEG4 and H265/HEVC codecs, in addition to five UHD channels with H265/HEVC encoders. The multiplexing solution is capable of supporting 500 television and radio services. The X Platform offers a significant reduction in the number of rack units (RU) needed, reducing the requirement to just 10 RUs for the whole platform.

Adnan Kapetanović, Head of Video Operations at BH Telecom, noted: “Delivering 270 channels in premium quality requires an enormous amount of bandwidth, and robust live transcoding and computing power. We chose Appear not only because of its industry-leading technology, but because it offers a partnership that supports our complex technical considerations and needs. The media system integrator and developer Beenius has been acquired by Net Solution.

The companies say that this strategic transaction will “pave the way for Net Solution to expand its capabilities in the IPTV, OTT, and DVB Hybrid services sector, offering robust and dynamic TV content solutions”.

Commenting on the transaction, Beenius CEO Filip Remskar said: “Net Solution’s acquisition of Beenius platform is a strategic move that reflects their alignment with our core values and vision for the industry. Their commitment to technological advancement assures us that they are the right entity to propel the platform’s development further. This shift will enable Beenius to focus on enhancing our IPTV/OTT player for seamless STB integration. We are also ramping up our consultancy services for operators and technology partners, leveraging our deep understanding of the market, technology, and operator dynamics”.

Remskar will continue to manage Beenius and will be devoted to innovation of addressable TV with his company Castoola.
